Outer Directed – Inner Directed

Our consensus view of reality strongly encourages us to look outside ourselves for our values, principles, and the How-To’s of life. Most spiritual traditions, on the other hand, which may be different than religious dogmas, encourage that we find the truth within ourselves. In fact, we are encouraged to know that truth, trust that truth, and to defer to no one else for the truth!

There is no right or wrong, good or bad in this process of discovering what’s true for you. As for me, from the time I was a child, I had a knowing that was different than the religion within which I was raised. However I didn’t have the courage to own that knowing until I was around 17 years old. Throughout the following 50 years, I’ve generated more courage and strength to own my truth – so much so that I’m sharing it here with you.

I share these podcasts not to convince you to follow me and believe what I believe. My intention is to empower and support you to listen to what your inner guru has always been sharing with you.

We need the outer world to reflect to us that which we can resonate and harmonize with. We also need the outer world to perhaps reflect a contrasting perspective so we can listen more deeply to what’s true within us. This requires cultivating the ability to discern what’s true for us. This takes time, patience, and much practice!

Listen in and then please share your perspective with me on my Facebook page!
