Let me first say that you are a rare indiÂvidÂual, indeed, to read a piece on spirÂiÂtuÂalÂizÂing your humanÂity. Maybe you didn’t know that’s what this artiÂcle is about. Now you do, and that makes you rare!
We think about ourÂselves as spirÂiÂtual beings, yet more often than not we live our lives as if the oppoÂsite were true. Many of us say we believe in a Universal Source “ Oneness, who is always lovÂing and who always proÂvides for us in every way posÂsiÂble. Yet we often act from fear-based ideas, beliefs and interÂpreÂtaÂtions; the scarcity model. Though we say we know we are loved and proÂvided for, we conÂtinÂuÂally act as if we couldn’t trust a soul “ seen or unseen.
My perÂsonal expeÂriÂence and my expeÂriÂence as a life and busiÂness coach tell me that we don’t really use our intelÂliÂgence much in our everyÂday endeavÂors. If we did, we would conÂstruct a pracÂtice that fully engages our thinkÂing, our reaÂsonÂing and reaÂsonÂabilÂity “ not the ones we’ve culÂtiÂvated as an egoic perÂson, but from the spirÂiÂtual prinÂciÂples we espouse, advoÂcate and chamÂpion. We’d disÂtinÂguish false assumpÂtions and those beliefs we’ve immersed ourÂselves in, and we’d eradÂiÂcate them from our dataÂbase of plauÂsiÂble and valÂued truths. We would study “ seriÂously study “ the qualÂity of expeÂriÂence we are havÂing and careÂfully disÂcern why it is the way it is, as opposed to the way we dream it to be.
Spiritual Intelligence is all incluÂsive of the intelÂliÂgence we use to choose; to drive on the right side of the road; to put our underÂwear on in the right direcÂtion; to conÂverse intelÂliÂgently and proÂfesÂsionÂally with potenÂtial clients, bosses and co-worker, famÂily memÂbers, etc. We know how to be intelÂliÂgent, but someÂtimes we choose to not use our intelÂliÂgence. And, by choosÂing not to use our intelÂliÂgence, our lives become unmanÂageÂable, chaotic and out of control.
We forÂget to be intelligent
Most of us just pay lip serÂvice to our spirÂiÂtual prinÂciÂples, often livÂing within our egoic minds, ponÂtifÂiÂcatÂing what we know in theÂory, but which we avoid in actual expeÂriÂence. So many of us take the spirÂiÂtual bypass, which makes us think that just because we perÂceive ourÂselves to be spirÂiÂtual we don’t have to actuÂally immerse ourÂselves in the human expeÂriÂence. We don’t have to get messy out on the playÂing field in the game of life.
The process of ascendÂing the ladÂder of spirÂiÂtual growth demands full responÂsiÂbilÂity for one’s own spirÂiÂtual develÂopÂment. There are no free rides. Each of us has to do our own work, diliÂgently, with vigÂiÂlance and total engageÂment in the process of exerÂcisÂing musÂcles of spirÂiÂtual intelÂliÂgence. We have to begin by clarÂiÂfyÂing what we want, and being dreadÂfully truthÂful about where we are in the process of bringÂing action to self-realizations.
In serÂvice to this process, I’ve develÂoped on six week online course beginÂning September 18, called Cultivating Spiritual Intelligence: An Introduction. This six-week course proÂvides a conÂtainer of time and space within which to explore and experÂiÂment with your spirÂiÂtual intelÂliÂgence, in relaÂtion to what you’ve been taught and what you’ve come to believe is true. There will be plenty of opporÂtuÂniÂties to stretch your cogÂniÂtive, emoÂtional and somatic intelÂliÂgence in serÂvice to culÂtiÂvatÂing spirÂiÂtual intelligence.
This course will bring clarÂity and underÂstandÂing about what you as spirÂiÂtual being is doing in this human body. You are here, as we all are, to expeÂriÂence the exquisÂiteÂness of what canÂnot be expeÂriÂenced anyÂwhere else in the Universe. And, as it becomes clearer to each us that we’ve choÂsen to be here and we’ve choÂsen based on a knowÂing of a much greater cosÂmic conÂsciousÂness, then we are far more likely to actively parÂticÂiÂpate in the grand advenÂture of life.
